Review : The touch of a villain by Holly Renee

Y𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜. 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮. 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚. 𝙍𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙮𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝘽𝙖𝙮 𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢.

He was arrogant and conceited, and from the moment I met him, he had made up his mind about me.
Dangerously handsome and wickedly cruel, he had no intention of letting me spend my senior year under the radar.
The secrets of old money ran deep, and even though I barely knew them, the sins of my family had put a target on my back.
He was a hurricane, and I was unprepared for the storm.
His touch fatal. His impact irreparable.
There was no negotiation.
He stole my heart. Without warning, without permission.

He was the enemy, but that didn't stop me from falling for The Touch of a Villain.

Review

What a story. I don’t have words to express how much I loved it. It is an emotional one. I loved the intensity that was maintained throughout the story.  The author has done justice to the enemies to lover genre. I don’t think it can get any better.

Initially, I was super confused with what the reason was for Beckham (Beck) and Josephine (Josie) becoming enemies. What happened?? What had Josie's stepbrother done?? There were soo many questions in my head. But as the story progressed all my questions were answered.

It's hard to stop reading this book. The writing is beautiful. It's simple and the entire plot of the story is very well thought through. Full of drama and romance, this story is one that would keep you hooked from the first page and keep you wanting more.

As far as the characters are concerned, with only a little being revealed about the main characters at every stage in the story ensures a strong connection of the reader with the characters. They are super relatable and well-rounded. I loved how Allie and Josie connected as soon as they met. I really enjoyed their friendship.

Oh, and I can't not talk about the heat in this book. The entire relationship between Beck and Josie is intense and hot. This relationship is one that as a reader I really got invested in while reading.

I don't think I will do justice to this review if I don't talk about the last two chapters. I was not ready for them. I had soo many emotions. I was literally in shock for 15 seconds once I finished the last chapter. I didn't see that ending. I was super engaged in the story.

This was my first ever Holly Renee novel. But this will surely make me read all the other books she has written. I can’t wait to read the second installment in this series. It was so good.

I would highly recommend it to all the enemies to lovers romance readers. If you love this genre do make it a point to pick this book up. It's epic.

I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
